The school is looking to appoint a highly organised Data Manager to take responsibility for the efficient management and reporting of pupil information.

The Role

The Data Manager will oversee a wide range of pupil assessment and school data processes.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining accurate pupil records.

  • Coordinating assessment data collection.

  • Producing reports for senior leaders.

  • Preparing attainment and progress information.

  • Checking data for accuracy.

  • Ensuring records are updated promptly.

Assessment Data

The Data Manager will coordinate information from different departments and ensure that assessment data is submitted accurately and on time.

You will need to communicate clearly with teachers and department leaders when information is incomplete or requires clarification.

The role requires excellent organisation because several reporting cycles may operate simultaneously.

Management Information System

The successful candidate will need to be confident using databases and information systems.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Updating pupil records.

  • Managing assessment information.

  • Producing reports.

  • Checking data accuracy.

  • Supporting staff with system queries.

  • Preparing information for senior leaders.

Experience with SIMS Arbor or another school MIS would be advantageous.

  • Progress information.

  • Pupil lists.

  • Departmental information.

  • Intervention data.

  • Senior leadership reports.

Strong Excel skills and an ability to work accurately with large amounts of information will therefore be essential.
