We are currently recruiting for Cycle Training Instructors both qualified and unqualified to cover training in the throughout Essex: Over 18 years old for insurances purposes The pay rate for this position is 14.65 per hour for qualified instructors and 13.30 for unqualified instructors. This is an as and when role where depending on service demand you will be expected to work a minimum of two consecutive week days during the school term. You will also be required to work some weekends and evenings providing support to the service at key times. You must be able to travel county wide. The Role We are currently seeking competent individuals who are passionate about cycling and enjoy working with peopleespecially childrenand who are enthusiastic about sharing their cycling this role you will be delivering Bikeability training courses to children across Essex as well as occasionally working with adults to help them build confidence develop practical cycling skills and improve their road awareness. As part of the role you will be expected to always adhere to road safety laws just as you would in your everyday cycling. You will be responsible for planning and organising training sessions effectively demonstrate reliability and good timekeeping and maintain a strong awareness of potential hazards. Cycling experience confidence and skill are all essential along with the ability to create a safe supportive learning environment for both children and adults. You will be delivering valuable lifelong cycling skills that will empower our learners to travel confidently safely and independently. To prepare you for this role you will receive training to the National Standard 1st 4 Sport Level 2 award in instructing cycle training (L2AICT) through a threeday course delivered by The Bikeability Trust. If your application is successful you must be available to attend the full threeday course Date to be confirmed The venue will be confirmed closer to the time. This qualification includes online modules that must be completed before attending the inperson training days. You will also be required to achieve full accreditation in the1st4sport Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycle Trainingwithin 6 months of starting employment (funded by ECC). Accountabilities The Experience You Will Bring To read more about us please visit:Place and Customer The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wide operational area including travelling around the county of Essex (excluding Southend and Thurrock) ideally by bike and/or public transport where practicable. We will try where possible to assign you within your local area but you will be expected at times to travel further afield. You must be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
