What youll be doing
As a Customs Operations Analyst you will support the customs process for ROI and Northern Ireland through effective data management query resolution and providing customs process advice. You will be the key point of contact for our outsourced customs agent managing day-to-day operational matters including clearance requests from other agents.
Key responsibilities
- Own and manage the database of product information shared with the freight agent
- Respond to clearance requests from freight agents
- Complete ad hoc customs jobs in TSS (Trader Support Service)
- Manage customs data in internal systems through reporting feedback loops to Master Data tariff updates
- Manage and maintain data relation to EU deforestation regulations
- Ad hoc classification of products through EU tariff and check TARIC codes
- Liaise with internal Distribution colleagues on trailer movements to ROI and NI
- Data Governance Custodian maintaining data governance controls within the business framework
- Respond to queries from freight agents about product information
- Own and maintain relevant SOP processes
- Raise GNFR POs
- Monitor duty spend on deferment accounts and arrange top up payments if required
- Liaise with the ROI Supplier Compliance team on queries related to controlled products deforestation guidelines obtain documents for trailer movements
- Cross pollinate with Imports and Exports teams to share information best practice holiday cover
What youll need to have (our must-haves)
- High levels of attention to detail.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and Power BI.
- An interest in European customs legislation and supply chain processes.
- Strong stakeholder coordination skills working closely with internal departments and external partners.
- Ability to maintain digital-first customs records in line with document retention requirements.
It would be great if you also have
- Experience in customs operations or a related field.
- Familiarity with EU deforestation regulations.
- Knowledge of tariff codes and product classification.
