Criminal Defence Paralegal

Location: Leeds

Salary: 24000 to 28000

Experience: Criminal defence paralegal experience preferred

Our client is looking to recruit a Criminal Defence Paralegal to join a busy and well-regarded criminal defence team.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Supporting fee earners on a broad range of criminal defence matters
  • Assisting with file progression from initial instruction through to conclusion
  • Taking instructions and maintaining proactive client communication
  • Drafting and preparing correspondence attendance notes and supporting documentation
  • Assisting with case preparation including evidence review and document management
  • Liaising with police stations courts CPS counsel and other third parties as required
  • Preparing bundles and supporting hearing preparation
  • Maintaining accurate well-organised files and ensuring deadlines are met

What Were Looking For

  • Previous experience in a criminal defence paralegal role is preferred
  • Police Station Accreditation is ideal or a genuine willingness to work towards it
  • Strong organisation and the ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Professional client-focused approach with discretion and good judgement
  • Confident written communication and attention to detail
  • Good IT skills and comfort working with case management systems
