Job Summary
The role:
As Credit Controller you will be responsible for Receivables for the CRP business forming part of a wider team of five to support the Credit Manager & Financial Controller to ensure credit control processes are robust for debt collection. You will also be responsible for the creation of sales invoices and credit notes. Maintaining a low level of overdue debt and prompt raising of sales invoices.
What will you do as a Credit Controller
- Ensure all customer sales invoices are accurate and raised in a timely manner to facilitate smooth credit collection.
- Ensure cash is collected from customers when due for payment and understanding the reasons overdue payments.
- Ensure controls are in place and adhered to for the approval of all credit.
- Liaising with relevant Business Group personnel and management to ensure effective management of credit control.
- Maintaining credit limits ensuring group compliance.
- Ensuring credit accounts are offered and credit limits are set in accordance with the guidelines set within the credit policy.
- Prompt raising of invoices in accordance with contractually agreed terms.
- Collection of debts when due for payment.
- Follow-up on all overdue debt liaising with other business functions when required by telephone email & some portal communication.
- Weekly debtors review with individual Business Managers within the Business Group.
- Resolution of customer invoice queries and escalating matters when required.
- Advising the business on potential credit accounts and credit limits through use of Credit agency reports credit insurer and dealings with customers.
- Raising all sales invoices and credit notes within ERP system (Business central)
- Update and maintain customer and accounts receivable standing data within ERP system.
- Responsibility for Commission accrual and liaise with agents where required.
- Issue of monthly customer statements.
- Creation of ad-hoc month end reports.
- Support and manage the financial review of Letters of Credit and adherence of submission with correct documentation; liaise with other areas of business where applicable.
- Support external audits where necessary providing supporting information.
- Ad-hoc tasks where required by Credit Manager.
What are we looking for in a Credit Controller
- Knowledge of overseas trading and shipment or Incoterms.
- Adopt the relevant partnering consulting influencing engaging and communication skills to add value to the business and senior key stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Takea stand of objectivity and integrity anddemonstratecourage to challenge.
- Understand internal and external customer needs and develop financial interventions to fulfil requirements
- Support the Business Group with all credit decisions.
- Ensure adherence to AIS group policies.
- Strong excel experience.
- Ensure compliance with Group Credit Insurance policy.
- Experience of working within a Project or contract driven business desirable but not essential.
- Experience of working within the Manufacturing/Engineering industry desirable but not essential
- Experience of using ERP systems and business intelligence software ideally Business Central.
- Minimum 5 years Credit Control.
- Membership of the Institute of Credit Management beneficial but not essential.
