Job Summary

Secondary schools grammar schools and multi-academy trusts across Buckingham and the surrounding North Buckinghamshire area (MK18 postcodes including Buckingham town center Winslow and nearby rural academies) are seeking energetic adaptable Cover Supervisors for an immediate (ASAP start) across flexible day-to-day and short-term bookings.

Role Overview

As a Cover Supervisor in Buckingham you will play a vital role in maintaining continuous learning during teacher absences. You will step into pre-planned lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 taking charge of classrooms maintaining a disciplined environment and ensuring pupils complete the work assigned by absent department staff.

This position is ideal for graduates aspiring secondary teachers youth workers sports coaches or experienced classroom managers looking for local work without the administrative burden of lesson planning marking or parents evenings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise pre-set lessons across diverse secondary subjects (STEM Humanities Arts Languages) in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

  • Create a safe purposeful and structured learning environment in every classroom

  • Enforce each schools behavior policy consistently managing classroom dynamics calmly and authoritatively

  • Distribute learning materials explain set instructions clearly and support pupils with set tasks

  • Complete electronic attendance registers accurately at the start of every period

  • Collect completed student work and leave clear handover notes for the returning class teacher

Candidate Requirements
