Cover Supervisor Outstanding School in Birmingham

Location: Birmingham (West Midlands)

Contract Type: Full-Time Long-Term (with potential for permanent contract)

Daily Rate: 90 130 per day (dependent on experience)

We are seeking an adaptable and proactive Cover Supervisor to join a high-achieving Ofsted Outstanding secondary school located in Birmingham. The school prides itself on maintaining exceptional academic standards excellent student behavior and a supportive welcoming staff body.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor a flexible Teaching Assistant or an ambitious graduate seeking further classroom experience prior to undertaking teacher training (PGCE / SCITT).

• Oversee pre-set lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 during planned and unplanned teacher absences.

• Maintain high standards of classroom control and student engagement in line with the schools behavior policy.

• Deliver learning materials provided by subject teachers ensuring students complete tasks efficiently.

• Take electronic class registers accurately and manage classroom resources effectively.

• Act as a positive role model creating a safe and encouraging environment for learning.

• Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people aged 1116 (e.g. in schools youth work tutoring or sports coaching).

• Education: Degree or Level 3 qualification preferred with strong literacy and numeracy skills.

• Skills: Excellent communication strong classroom presence and high adaptability across various academic departments.

• Safeguarding: An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or readiness to undergo a full DBS application).
