A welcoming and well-established faith secondary school in Coventry is seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join its dedicated student support team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor Teaching Assistant graduate or education professional looking to develop their classroom experience within a supportive secondary school environment.

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning when teachers are unavailable. You will work across different subjects and year groups ensuring students understand the work provided and remain focused throughout each lesson.
As Cover Supervisor you will supervise classes across the secondary age range delivering pre-prepared work and ensuring that students remain engaged and productive. You will not be expected to plan full lessons but you will need the confidence to manage a classroom independently and deal appropriately with a range of behaviour and learning needs.
This position would suit someone with a calm professional manner who can establish clear expectations quickly and build positive relationships with students.
Supervise students during lessons when the usual teacher is absent.
Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions.
Take class registers and ensure students are accounted for.
Maintain a calm purposeful and positive classroom environment.
Manage behaviour in line with the schools policies and expectations.
Support students with completing the work provided by teaching staff.
Encourage students to remain focused and engaged with their learning.
Report any significant behaviour safeguarding or learning concerns.
Provide feedback to teachers and relevant pastoral staff where required.
Work across different subjects and year groups.
Support wider school activities when necessary.
Follow all school safeguarding health and safety procedures.
