STRAGO International is partnering with an established internationally active specialist in offshore subsea protection and stabilisation solutions to appoint a Business Development Manager for the European offshore wind market.
Our client is a long-established provider of specialist products and services for major offshore energy and infrastructure projects across Europe the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. With expertise in offshore wind foundation and structural grouting and subsea protection solutions the business has contributed to a number of major European offshore wind projects working alongside leading offshore operators developers EPC and installation contractors. It combines specialist engineering capability proprietary technology and proven offshore execution experience to deliver solutions in some of the worlds most demanding marine environments.
As the business continues to expand its presence in the European offshore wind market it is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to build on this foundation and drive the next phase of growth.
| ROLE OVERVIEW |
The Business Development Manager Offshore Wind Europe will be responsible for driving growth and market presence across the European offshore wind sector. The role focuses on identifying and developing new business opportunities building strategic relationships with offshore wind developers EPC contractors cable suppliers marine contractors and other key industry stakeholders and converting market opportunities into sustainable revenue.
The position plays a key role in establishing and strengthening the companys presence in the European offshore wind market with particular focus on subsea cable protection stabilisation and associated offshore solutions. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with an understanding of the offshore wind value chain and the ability to build relationships at senior decision-making levels.
| KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |
1. Business Development & Market Expansion
- Develop and execute the business development strategy for the European offshore wind market.
- Identify new market opportunities projects customers and applications aligned with the companys product and technical capabilities.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of offshore wind opportunities from early-stage development through tender award and execution.
- Monitor upcoming offshore wind projects including project developers EPC contractors cable manufacturers installation contractors and other key stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for existing products new assets and innovative solutions within the European market.
- Develop new markets accounts and distribution or partnership channels to support sustainable revenue growth.
- Convert identified opportunities into qualified leads tenders and commercial opportunities.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with offshore wind developers utilities EPCs cable suppliers marine contractors consultants and other industry stakeholders.
- Represent the company at client meetings industry conferences exhibitions and offshore wind forums.
- Present the companys capabilities products assets and technical solutions to clients and key decision makers.
- Develop trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and become a credible commercial partner to key accounts.
- Understand customer requirements and translate them into commercially viable solutions in collaboration with the technical teams.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and build long-term customer loyalty.
- Lead and coordinate the business development process for identified offshore wind opportunities.
- Monitor and manage the tender pipeline ensuring timely follow-up and progression of opportunities.
- Coordinate with technical operations finance and commercial teams to develop competitive and technically sound proposals.
- Review client requirements specifications and commercial conditions and ensure proposals are aligned with project requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of opportunities tenders follow-ups probability and expected revenue.
- Provide regular reporting on pipeline development tenders wins losses and market activity.
- Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions where required.
- Develop a strong understanding of the European offshore wind market project pipeline competitors customer requirements and emerging technologies.
- Track market trends regulatory developments supply-chain dynamics and investment activity affecting the offshore wind sector.
- Identify unique selling propositions and develop clear market differentiators against competitors.
- Gather customer and market intelligence and translate insights into actionable business opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for new products services partnerships and solutions that can strengthen the companys market position.
- Build a strong network across the European offshore wind ecosystem.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships with EPCs cable manufacturers marine contractors engineering companies consultants and other complementary businesses.
- Explore collaboration opportunities that can expand market reach and strengthen the companys position within the offshore wind supply chain.
- Leverage industry relationships to gain early visibility of upcoming projects and influence opportunities at an early stage.
- Work closely with the technical and engineering teams to understand client requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with operations project management finance procurement and other functions to ensure commercial commitments are deliverable.
- Provide market and customer feedback to support product development and innovation.
- Contribute actively to company and group strategy business planning and cross-functional synergy initiatives.
- Support the development of new assets and solutions based on evolving European offshore wind requirements.
- Deliver agreed business development sales and revenue targets for the European offshore wind market.
- Monitor sales performance against agreed budgets and forecasts.
- Develop and maintain a realistic sales forecast and opportunity pipeline.
- Contribute to improving market share profitability and long-term commercial sustainability in Europe.
- Ensure opportunities are evaluated from both revenue and profitability perspectives.

| PERSON SPECIFICATION |
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Engineering Commercial Management Renewable Energy or a related discipline.
- An engineering or technical background within offshore marine subsea energy or renewable energy would be advantageous.
- 510 years of experience in Business Development Sales or Commercial roles preferably within offshore wind subsea offshore energy marine cable protection construction or a related industry.
- Proven experience developing business within the European offshore wind market.
- Strong understanding of the offshore wind project lifecycle and key players across the value chain.
- Experience working with developers EPC contractors cable manufacturers marine contractors and/or offshore installation companies.
- Demonstrated track record of developing new business and converting opportunities into revenue.
- Experience managing tenders proposals and commercial negotiations.
- An established network within the European offshore wind industry is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in English; multilingual capability is an advantage.
