Cost Engineer Nuclear

We are seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to support the delivery of complex and high-value projects within the Nuclear and Energy sectors. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate cost control forecasting and reporting across defined project scopes working closely with Project Controls Managers planners commercial teams and Work Package Managers.

• Location: Bridgewater (Somerset)
• On Site:  3-4 Days 
• Clearance: BPSS
• Experience Level: 4- 10YOE

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update project budgets forecasts and commitments
• Track and validate actual costs accruals and variances
• Support change control processes and assess cost impacts
• Prepare monthly cost reports dashboards and sponsor reporting
• Collaborate with Work Package Managers to compile Monthly Project Reviews (MPRs)
• Provide analysis to support KPIs performance monitoring and continuous improvement
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of cost systems tools and processes
• Engage proactively with stakeholders to ensure cost data integrity and alignment with schedules

Qualifications :

Required Skills:

• 410 years of experience in cost engineering project controls or a related discipline
• Proven knowledge of cost control budgeting and change management
• Advanced proficiency in Excel Power Query and data analysis tools
• Experience in large complex projects ideally within infrastructure energy or nuclear sectors
• Familiarity with ERP/project controls software (e.g. SAP EcoSys Primavera)
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Electrical Engineering or Project Management or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with NEC contracts (Option C) and associated reporting
• Knowledge of commercial processes (NEC/FIDIC)
• Formal training in cost control estimating or forecasting
• Progress toward professional accreditation (RICS APM CICES PMI or similar)
