Job Summary
2 Month Contract With A Local Authority
Job Purpose
To prepare and cook nutritious home-cooked meals for residents respite service users and staff within a residential care setting. The role involves maintaining high standards of food quality hygiene and safety while catering for vulnerable adults with learning disabilities in a professional and caring environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh lunch and evening meals for residents respite service users and staff.
- Cater for approximately 21 people daily ensuring meals meet dietary and nutritional requirements.
- Follow all food hygiene food safety and health and safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean safe and organised kitchen environment.
- Ensure food is stored prepared and served in accordance with current legislation and best practice.
- Support the wellbeing of vulnerable adults by providing high-quality nutritious meals.
- Monitor stock levels and report any shortages or ordering requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the wider care team to meet the needs of residents and service users.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Cook.
- Experience within a residential care home or similar care environment.
- Experience preparing meals for groups of approximately 1521 people.
- Food Safety Level 1 or Level 2 qualification (Level 2 preferred).
- Food Hygiene Level 1 or Level 2 qualification (Level 2 preferred).
- Enhanced DBS (without Barred List) with Cook listed as the job title (essential).
- BPSS check required.
