Are you an organised Conveyancing Assistant or Paralegal seeking to broaden your residential property experience within a supportive busy Surrey practice Our client is a well-established highly regarded law firm in Leatherhead with an outstanding reputation across residential real estate. Experiencing sustained transactional volume across their property department they are seeking an enthusiastic Conveyancing Assistant or Paralegal with 12 months practice experience to provide direct support to a Partner and ensure conveyancing transactions progress seamlessly.

The Opportunity

In this hands-on legal support role you will work closely alongside an experienced Residential Property Partner managing matters across every stage of the conveyancing lifecycle. From initial instruction and client onboarding through to exchange completion and post-completion you will act as a key point of contact for clients estate agents and lenders while progressing files within a modern case management system. Designed for a proactive legal assistant or paralegal this position offers high operational variety direct partner mentorship and excellent scope to build your conveyancing expertise.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Experience & Qualifications: Minimum 12 months UK practice experience within a Residential Conveyancing department as an assistant or paralegal. GCSEs (including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above) required.

  • File Onboarding & Compliance: Experience opening digital and paper files conducting conflict searches carrying out Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Client ID verification and ordering environmental/local authority searches.

  • Transaction Progression & Liaison: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for daily liaison with clients estate agents mortgage brokers and opposing solicitors to drive transactions through to exchange.

  • Technical Systems & Administration: Proficiency using modern Legal Case Management Systems (CMS) Microsoft Office (Word Outlook Teams Excel) and digital dictation software.

  • Personal Attributes: Meticulous attention to detail strong organisational capability and a calm client-focused approach when working under pressure to meet completion deadlines.
