We are working exclusively with a reputable fast-growing and forward-thinking facilities management business with a strong company culture and ambitious plans for continued growth.
Due to expansion they are looking to recruit an experienced FM Contract Manager to take responsibility for a varied portfolio of approximately 1015 single and multi-site contracts with a combined value of around 750000-1 million.
The portfolio covers a broad range of hard and soft building maintenance services including electrical mechanical HVAC gas and fabric maintenance so the role requires someone with a good all-round technical understanding rather than a background focused on one particular trade.
Most contracts are based across the Midlands with some sites further afield including the North West. This is a genuinely mobile management position with regular client and site visits expected.
The Role
You will take overall responsibility for the operational commercial and client management of your contract portfolio.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing approximately 1015 facilities management contracts across single and multi-site client portfolios.
- Taking responsibility for a portfolio with an approximate annual value ofmillion.
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of planned and reactive building maintenance services.
- Overseeing works across electrical mechanical HVAC gas fabric and associated building services.
- Managing contract P&L WIP and overall commercial performance.
- Monitoring statutory PPM compliance SLAs and KPIs.
- Building strong relationships with clients and acting as their main point of contact.
- Attending regular client meetings and presenting contract performance and management information.
- Coordinating engineers subcontractors and internal teams to ensure works are delivered effectively.
- Reviewing operational performance and identifying opportunities to improve service productivity and profitability.
- Ensuring labour and resources are used effectively across the portfolio.
- Managing and resolving operational and technical issues as they arise.
- Supporting quotations additional works and contract growth opportunities.
- Ensuring all works are delivered safely and in accordance with company procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
- Supporting coaching and developing engineers and operational teams where required.
The Person
We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of technical facilities management and building services.
The successful candidate will ideally:
- Have previous experience as an FM Contract Manager Account Manager Operations Manager or similar.
- Alternatively be an experienced engineering or technical professional who has progressed into management and is ready to take greater contract responsibility.
- Have a good all-round understanding of building services including electrical mechanical HVAC gas and fabric maintenance.
- Have experience managing commercial or multi-site FM contracts.
- Understand P&L WIP budgets and commercial contract performance.
- Have experience managing statutory compliance PPM delivery SLAs and KPIs.
- Be confident managing client relationships and attending senior-level meetings.
- Have strong problem-solving skills and be comfortable taking ownership of operational issues.
- Be commercially aware while retaining a strong understanding of technical service delivery.
- Be able to manage multiple contracts and priorities simultaneously.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
Location & Travel
This is a Midlands-based hybrid role ideally suited but not limited to someone based around Birmingham Coventry Wolverhampton or the surrounding areas.
The role combines home working office attendance and regular client/site visits. Candidates should expect to spend approximately 23 days per week visiting sites although this will vary depending on operational requirements.
Most contracts are based throughout the Midlands with some further afield so applicants must be comfortable with regular regional travel and occasional national travel.
The role is expected to involve approximately business miles per year so someone comfortable being out with clients and operational teams is essential.
