Construction Supervisor (NEC4)

About the Role

Were looking for an experienced Construction Supervisor to join our growing team supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects within the UK nuclear sector. Reporting to the Construction Manager youll oversee site activities ensuring contractors deliver work safely efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Working as part of the Client team youll primarily fulfil the NEC4 Supervisor role while supporting wider HSQE activities on site. This is an excellent opportunity to work on nationally significant projects within a highly regulated environment.

What Youll Do

  • Act as the NEC4 Supervisor ensuring works comply with contract requirements and project scope.
  • Supervise construction activities monitoring quality safety and progress on site.
  • Carry out inspections witness testing identify defects and support quality assurance.
  • Review contractor documentation including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) Quality Plans and construction methods.
  • Work closely with Project Managers contractors and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate site records reports and project documentation.
  • Monitor contractor Health & Safety performance and support HSQE activities.
  • Contribute to commissioning lessons learned and continuous improvement across projects.

    Qualifications :

    What Were Looking For

    Essential

    • Experience supervising construction works on large civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
    • Good understanding of NEC4 contracts and the Supervisor role.
    • Strong knowledge of construction quality health & safety and site inspections.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to work effectively within regulated environments and manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. 
    • Solid understanding of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
    • Minimum 15 years experience delivering major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
    • Experience in heavy civil construction including groundworks utilities temporary works reinforced concrete and structural steel.
    • Experience working within highly regulated environments with robust safety and quality management systems.
    • Excellent attention to detail strong organisational skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
    • Able to work proactively and confidently in complex project environments.

    Desirable

    • Experience within the Nuclear Defence Oil & Gas or other highly regulated industries.
    • Knowledge of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities.
    • Experience with regulated control of work systems (e.g. NSAG or similar).
    • Relevant construction or engineering qualifications.

     

    • NEC4 Supervisor Accreditation (or willingness to achieve within six months).
    • Previous experience in the Nuclear sector.
    • Experience delivering building prefabrication or MEICA (Mechanical Electrical Instrumentation & Control) works.
    • HNC/HND (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
    • SMSTS CITB CSCS Black Card IOSH Managing Safely and First Aid certification.
    • Experience within the Nuclear Defence Oil & Gas or other highly regulated industries.
    • Knowledge of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities.
    • Experience with regulated control of work systems (e.g. NSAG or similar).
    • Relevant construction or engineering qualifications.
