Construction & Engineering Associate / Senior Associate

Location: Leeds (hybrid working 2 to 3 days from home)

Salary: 75000 to 95000 plus bonus and benefits

Experience: 5 years PQE

You will advise a broad range of clients across construction real estate and energy working on a varied mix of complex and interesting matters. While the ideal is someone with a blend of contentious and non-contentious experience strong non-contentious lawyers who want to broaden their practice are very much encouraged.

What Youll Be Doing

• Advising on drafting and negotiating standard form construction contracts including JCT NEC and FIDIC

• Advising on professional appointments collateral warranties and wider construction documentation

• Supporting colleagues across Real Estate and Energy on transactions requiring construction expertise

• Advising on construction disputes and helping manage matters through adjudication arbitration and litigation where appropriate

• Delivering commercially focused advice and building strong client relationships

• Supervising and mentoring junior colleagues as the team continues to grow

• Getting involved in business development through networking writing articles client training and wider marketing activity

What Were Looking For

• A qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years PQE in construction law

• Ideally exposure to both contentious and non-contentious work but strong non-contentious experience is welcomed

• Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues

• Excellent technical ability with strong commercial awareness

• Confident communicator who builds lasting relationships with clients and colleagues

• Collaborative proactive and motivated to contribute to a growing team

Working Arrangements

The role is Leeds-based with hybrid working available (typically 2 to 3 days per week from home).
