A secondary school in Surrey is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and technically confident Computer Science Teacher to join its Computing Department. This is a full-time permanent opportunity for someone who can help students develop both practical programming skills and a deeper understanding of computer science.

The role will involve teaching Computer Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will introduce students to programming algorithms computational thinking computer systems and digital technology before building towards the requirements of GCSE Computer Science.

At KS3 lessons should give students opportunities to experiment with programming and solve problems independently. At KS4 you will support students with the theoretical and practical elements of their GCSE course including programming tasks algorithms data representation and computer systems.

The successful teacher will be able to adapt their teaching for students with different levels of technical confidence. You will also use regular assessment to identify gaps in understanding and ensure students receive appropriate support.

Computer Science Teacher - Experience and Qualifications

• Computer Science or related Degree

• QTS or recognised teaching qualification

• Secondary Computer Science teaching experience

• Understanding of algorithms and computational thinking

• Confident classroom management

• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly
