Salary: 25949 per annum (full-time equivalent)

Lancashire County Councils Lancaster and Morecambe Short Break Service is looking for a dedicated Female Support Worker to join our friendly and experienced team. Our purpose-built short break service provides high-quality respite care and support for adults with learning disabilities and other additional needs helping individuals enjoy new experiences build confidence and achieve their personal goals.

The service operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week providing a safe supportive and welcoming environment for the people who stay with us. As a Support Worker you will play a key role in ensuring each individuals stay is positive enjoyable and tailored to their needs.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with individuals to provide practical emotional and personal support while promoting choice dignity independence and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting individuals with personal care and daily living activities.
• Encouraging people to develop independence confidence and life skills.
• Helping individuals access community activities social opportunities and hobbies.
• Supporting people to make informed choices about their care and support.
• Administering medication in line with policies and procedures.
• Assisting with basic financial transactions and record keeping where required.
• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to support plans.
• Following care plans risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues families and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

About You

You will be:

• Caring patient and empathetic.
• Respectful of individual differences and committed to promoting dignity and inclusion.
• A good communicator with the ability to build positive relationships.
• Flexible and able to work as part of a rota-based service.
• Reliable motivated and willing to learn.

Previous experience in health and social care is welcomed but not essential. We place greater importance on your values attitude and commitment to supporting others. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
