Job Summary

Community & Education Outreach Lead

Salary:circa46000 per annum
Location:Youllbe based within Great Yarmouth or the surrounding area supporting the local area while travellingregularlyacross the region as.

Contract:Permanent Monday to Friday 37 hours (flexible working opportunities available) occasional weekend and evening work

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of education and community engagement programmes within our A-WINEP (Water Industry National Environment Programme) locations helping to deliver meaningful environmental outcomes while making a real difference to the communities we serve.

The Urban Regeneration programme focusses on the creation of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) across Southend and the surrounding City as we take a nature first approach to reducing storm sewer overflows and surface water flooding.

Whatyoullbe doing

As our Community & Education Outreach Leadyoulldesign and deliver engaging education sessions community events and behaviour change initiatives thatpromotesustainable water use and environmental awareness.

Working across schools communitygroupsand partner organisationsyoulltranslate technical topics into inspiring accessible learning experiences for audiences of all ages.Youllalso build strong partnerships with local stakeholders helping to maximise the impact of our programmes and represent Anglian Water within the community.

No two days will be the same as you:

  • Design and deliver engaging education and community outreach programmes.

  • Inspire children youngpeopleand adults through interactive learning experiences.

  • Build lasting relationships with schoolsParishCouncilsand community organisations.

  • Evaluate programme success and use insight to continuously improve delivery.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to support wider environmental and sustainabilityobjectives.

  • Act as a passionate ambassador for Anglian Water within the communities you support.

What does it take to be successful

Youllbe a confident communicator who enjoys engaging with people from all backgrounds and can adapt your approach to suit different audiences.

Youllalso have:

  • Experience delivering educationtrainingor community engagement programmes.

  • The ability to explain technical or complex information in an engaging and easy-to-understand way.

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Experience building strong relationships with external stakeholders.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Confidence working independently while collaborating with colleagues across different teams.

  • A passion for sustainability education and making a positive impact within local communities.

A teaching or training qualification experience working across both education and community engagement settings and knowledge of the National Curriculum would beadvantageous.

A full UK driving licenceandbusiness car insurance areessential as regular travel across yourallocatedarea will be with occasional evening and weekend working to support community events. A suitable DBS check will also befor this role.
