Job Summary
Role: Community Development Worker
Salary: 25949.00 per annum (pro rata for part-time hours)
Contract/Hours Part time and Full time 12 to 37 hours. Weekend and evening work at least a monthly Saturday and 1 evening per week required.

A bit about the role
0 to 19 Torbay is part of the Best Start Family Hubs. Action for Children works in partnership with Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust Health Visiting and School Nursing services to form 0 to 19 Torbay.
Best Start Family Hubs are a new way of bringing together all the support a family may need and provides a welcoming space and a front door for families from pregnancy through to young people turning 19 (or 25 if they experience SEND).
This is an exciting opportunity for anybody who enjoys new challenges has a sense of humour and enjoys working within a rolethat is constantly developing but has the potential to make a real difference to the lives of young children and their families.
The post holder will work as part of the integrated 0 to 19 Torbay team to deliver family support within Torbay communities. The role will involve delivering key messages within the community identifying and recruiting Peer champions and building strong community relationships. You may be working 1:1 alongside families within the community or in the Best Start Family Hubs.
You will need to ensure that all support is evidence based and informed so some experience in delivering sessions is an advantage.

- Being a good communicator and able to make effective relationships with children young people and their parents and carers.
- Facilitating sessions that are fun engaging and inclusive.
- Being flexible about where and when you work.
- Keeping accurate records of work carried out.
Lets talk about you.
- A relevant Level 2 or above qualification in Childcare or equivalent experience.
- Ability to travel.
- Energy enthusiasm and experience of engaging with children and young people individually in groups and online.
- Availability for set weekend and evening working.
