Were looking for a Community Centre Assistant to join our team on apart time basis at The Reed Community Centre in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys interacting with a diverse range of people providing outstanding support and helping to ensure a vibrant community hub runs smoothly and effectively.

As the face of the centre youll play a key role in creating a safe inclusive and welcoming environment for visitors community groups partners and stakeholders. From front-of-house support and administration to helping with events and centre operations youll be at the heart of everything we do.

What Youll Be Doing:

Welcoming Our Community

  • Providing a friendly and professional reception service.

  • Acting as the first point of contact for visitors enquiries phone calls and emails.

  • Ensuring all visitors receive a positive experience and appropriate support.

  • Monitoring visitor access and attendance in line with centre procedures.

Supporting Day-to-Day Operations

  • Helping to maintain a safe clean and welcoming environment.

  • Supporting community activities and programmes.

  • Assisting with cafĂ© operations where applicable including serving refreshments and handling transactions.

  • Reporting and escalating any safety or facility concerns

Providing Administrative Support

  • Managing shared inboxes and responding to enquiries.

  • Supporting health and safety inspections and compliance activities.

  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation.

  • Assisting with repairs reporting and tracking actions to completion.

What youll need:

  • Experience in a customer-facing or front-of-house role

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong administrative and organisational abilities

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office including Excel

  • Ability to manage a varied workload and work flexibly

  • Basic understanding of health and safety and compliance requirements

  • A genuine passion for working with diverse communities and supporting vulnerable individuals where appropriate.

Required Experience:

Junior IC
