Job Summary
Location: Field Based Across North East DerbyshireContract: Permanent Part Time 21 hoursSalary: 14726.95Reporting to: Community Voice Network FacilitatorDBS Check: EnhancedDriving Licence Required: Yes with access to a vehicle and Business InsuranceMake communities stronger. Through our Together Derbyshire programme were creating opportunities for people to build meaningful connections access support and feel part of their local looking for a Community Builder who is passionate about bringing people together strengthening local networks and helping communities is a rewarding role for someone who loves meeting people building relationships and turning ideas into action. Youll spend time out in communities connecting with residents volunteers partner organisations and local groups to reduce isolation and increase opportunities for people to participate contribute and the roleAs a Community Builder youll use an asset-based community development approach to identify strengths connections and opportunities within local work alongside residents volunteers community groups and partner organisations to:Build and strengthen local social networksIncrease opportunities for volunteering and community participationConnect people with local groups activities and supportDevelop new community-led initiativesSupport people experiencing social isolation to build meaningful connectionsHelp communities identify local priorities and create sustainable solutionsPromote community resilience wellbeing and inclusionYoull also help map local community assets support volunteer-led projects and maintain records that demonstrate the impact of the youll be doingDeveloping strong relationships with residents community organisations and local partnersIdentifying existing community assets groups and opportunitiesSupporting the creation and development of new groups and activitiesEncouraging and promoting volunteering opportunitiesFacilitating connections between people services and community resourcesSupporting community leaders and volunteers with information guidance and encouragementWorking with partners across Derbyshire to strengthen local community offersHelping community groups access resources and funding opportunities where appropriateGathering information and recording outcomes to demonstrate impactWhat were looking forWere looking for someone who is naturally curious about people and communities and enjoys building trusted bring:Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsThe ability to connect with people from diverse backgroundsExperience of partnership working and stakeholder engagementConfidence facilitating groups meetings or community activitiesA good understanding of local communities and community assetsStrong organisational and time management skillsExperience supporting volunteering community development or engagement activitiesThe ability to work independently in a field-based roleKnowledge of safeguarding confidentiality and data protection principlesYoull be particularly successful if youre motivated by creating opportunities for others and believe in the power of community-led join Rethink Mental IllnessAt Rethink Mental Illness people are at the heart of everything we do.
