To support the commissioning implementation and continuous development of the Best Start in Life Family Hubs Programme. The role will coordinate commissioning activities contract management and performance monitoring to ensure high-quality services that improve outcomes for children young people and families. Working collaboratively with internal teams providers and partners the postholder will help ensure commissioned services align with national Best Start for Life priorities and local strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Support the commissioning implementation and development of the Best Start in Life Family Hubs Programme.
Coordinate commissioning activities including contract management and performance monitoring.
Analyse performance quality and financial data to produce reports recommendations and commissioning insights.
Monitor commissioned services and identify opportunities for continuous service improvement.
Support stakeholder engagement with service users providers partners and local communities to inform service design and development.
Assist in the development of service specifications tender documentation and procurement activities for public health services.
Contribute to strategic action plans relating to Best Start for Life priorities.
Work collaboratively with delivery partners and internal stakeholders to ensure commissioned services meet strategic objectives.
Portfolio Responsibilities
Commissioning Officer 1 Health and Early Years
Support the commissioning and development of services relating to infant feeding.
Support commissioning activity for perinatal mental health and parentinfant relationships.
Contribute to early years health and wellbeing priorities.
Monitor commissioned services support performance reporting and drive continuous improvement.
Commissioning Officer 2 Early Help and Family Support
Support the commissioning and development of evidence-based parenting support programmes.
Contribute to Home Learning Environment (HLE) and school readiness initiatives.
Support early help and family support priorities.
Assist with service mobilisation contract management performance monitoring and service improvement activities.
Requirements
Experience in commissioning contract management or service development within the public sector.
Ability to analyse performance quality and financial data and present findings clearly.
Experience supporting stakeholder engagement across multiple organisations and communities.
Knowledge of commissioning processes procurement and performance monitoring.
Strong organisational communication and relationship management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
Experience within childrens services public health early years or family support is desirable.
Understanding of Best Start for Life priorities and Family Hubs programmes is advantageous.
