What Is The Opportunity
Scarborough Transit Connect (STC)was selected byMetrolinxto deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension Stations Rails and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTCs Line 2 subwayservicenearly eightkilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT) helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobsschoolsand other key destinations throughout the city.
As part of the Scarborough Transit Connect project based in ScarboroughAecon islooking for a qualifiedCommercial Managerto join our team.
What Youll Do Here:
- Identify track and manage all variations to the project scope ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions including meeting deadlines.
- Oversee the development of variation estimates and forecast their issuance.
- Interface with leadership Project Managers Contractors Consultants and other stakeholders to assess the impact of variations and ensure timely resolution.
- Evaluate the commercial implications of variations and work with the cost team to ensure accurate cost forecasting and budget management.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with project variations ensuring that potential impacts are identified and addressed proactively.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all variations including justification approval implementation details and provide regular reports and updates.
- Review and assess variations or modifications for potential impacts on the project scope schedule and budget.
- Prepare regular reports on variation status impacts and resolutions for senior management and project stakeholders.
- Develop and update the variations management plan.
- Ensure all variations comply with relevant regulations standards and best practices.
- Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity welcome different perspectives and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
What You Bring To The Team:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management or a related field.
- 8-10 years of construction experience as a project manager or a similar role within large-scale infrastructure projects preferably in the rail or transportation sector.
- 3-5 years of commercial experience in contract/change management or similar role.
- Familiarity with estimating and schedule analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret contractual documents including terms and conditions planning and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of project mangement principles contract management and cost control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing changes.
- Familiarity with relevant construction contracts and contract law
- Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.
Reason for vacancy: Replacement
Pay Range: $130000 - $160000
Individual pay isdeterminedbased on several factors including work location education experience uniqueskillsand job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications specialized training and the complexity or scope of the role.
