Youll join our Hosting & Infrastructure function a vital part of CTI that works across our Nublue hosting platforms and CTIs internal systems. We support a mix of cloud-native environments managed infrastructure and continuous improvement projects working closely with client support and delivery teams across the business.

This is a newly shaped entry-level role created to give you genuine breadth across both platform engineering and technical support rather than boxing you into one narrow lane early on. Youll get hands-on exposure to live client environments from day one structured support to gain Azure certifications and a clear development path toward automation and the next generation of intelligent operations tooling as our team adopts more of it.

What youll be doing

As a Graduate Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer youll split your time between supporting live client platforms and building your infrastructure engineering skills growing into a well-rounded generalist who can flex as our tooling and the market evolves. Youll be expected to get stuck in ask questions and build confidence fast.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Service & Incident Response: Supporting clients via live chat email and phone triaging technical incidents and escalations and working with senior engineers to keep downtime to a minimum.
Platform Maintenance: Assisting with day-to-day management of client cloud infrastructure with a primary focus on Azure alongside broader web hosting environments including Windows and/or Linux servers and Plesk.
Troubleshooting & Site Support: Investigating hosting and CMS issues (platforms like Umbraco and Magento) site compromise reports and general platform stability concerns.
Infrastructure Support: Supporting platform security backup processes and access controls across client and internal systems.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Creating and maintaining clear platform documentation runbooks and handover notes.
Growing Into Automation: As you build your foundations youll get exposure to the automation and monitoring tooling our team uses to run infrastructure more intelligently - with the opportunity to specialise further into this as the teams use of it grows.
Collaboration: Working with senior engineers on continuous improvement tasks and translating technical problems into clear non-technical language for clients.
Availability: Participating in an out-of-hours 24/7 rota (on call) once fully onboarded to provide consistent coverage and quick resolution for critical issues.

What experience you need to be successful

This is an ideal role for someone just starting out - attitude and curiosity matter more to us here than ticking off a checklist of prior experience. If youre genuinely interested in how systems and cloud platforms work and youre keen to learn well help you build the rest.

What wed love to see:

Foundational Interest: A degree in Computer Science or a related field or a qualification such as an apprenticeship or entry-level certifications (CompTIA A/Network Azure Fundamentals) - though we know these open doors more than they prove ability so equivalent self-directed learning counts too.
Systems Curiosity: Some exposure to Linux and/or Windows environments - through coursework personal projects or self-directed learning - with a genuine interest in building deeper command-line and systems fluency. Well support you to develop this on the job.
Web Hosting Awareness: An interest in how hosting works - things like DNS SSL and web servers (e.g. Apache/Nginx) - even if youve only encountered these in passing so far.
Cloud Curiosity: Some exposure to or a keen interest in Azure and other cloud platforms (i.e. AWS). Well get you certified - you just need to want to go there. Communication: Patience empathy and clarity when explaining technical issues to non-technical colleagues and clients.
Problem-Solving Mindset: A logical approach to unfamiliar problems a willingness to research and ask questions and the resilience to sit with something tricky until it clicks.
Proactive Attitude: Youre organised take ownership of your work and go looking for the next thing to learn rather than waiting to be told.

Nice-to-haves (not must-haves):

Experience managing websites from an admin or user perspective.
Curiosity about how automation or AI-assisted tooling is changing infrastructure and operations work.
Leadership or community involvement - whether thats a society lead or fronting a band!

1st Stage - A video call with a member of our Infrastructure team - a deep dive into the role and a chance for you to ask some questions.
2nd Stage - A face-to-face interview with a Hosting team and our CTO. Well probe around your commercial experience and approach to client relationships.
