Up to 49500 per annum depending on experience

37.5 hours per week

We are looking for a Clinical Leader for our hospital to help us build a healthier nation. Youre registered with the appropriate governing body and you have the relevant qualifications and post registration in surgery/anaesthetics experience including as a Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner. With strong clinical leadership you will guide your team a shared vision promoting innovation and sustainability. As a clinical leader you will have good communication and organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team knowledge and understanding of running a smooth & effective department equipment is also essential.

A Scrub Team Leader is responsible for providing clinical and operational leadership to the scrub team within the operating theatre ensuring the delivery of safe high-quality patient care and the efficient coordination of surgical services.

As our Clinical Leader you will:

  • Lead and coordinate the scrub team during surgical procedures.

  • Maintain high standards of aseptic technique infection prevention and patient safety.

  • Prepare and manage surgical instruments equipment and consumables.

  • Support surgeons and the multidisciplinary team throughout operations.

  • Provide day-to-day leadership supervision and professional support to scrub practitioners students and support staff.
    Undertake line management responsibilities including staff appraisal performance management attendance management recruitment induction training and workforce development.

  • Ensure compliance with theatre policies professional standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Contribute to staff rostering capacity planning and efficient theatre utilisation.

  • Participate in clinical audits quality improvement initiatives and incident investigations.

  • Monitor stock levels and support procurement and resource management.

  • Act as a clinical role model and provide leadership during emergency and complex procedures.

  • Key Skills and Experience

As Our Clinical Leader you will have;

  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with current professional registration.

  • Significant scrub experience across a range of surgical specialties.

  • Proven leadership and line management experience.

  • Strong communication organisational and decision-making skills.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of infection prevention patient safety and clinical governance.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced theatre environment.

  • Commitment to staff development education and continuous improvement.

Desirable Criteria;

  • Surgical First Assistant (SFA) qualification or a willingness to work towards obtaining one.

  • Experience in leading service improvement and quality initiatives.
