About Cleaning Services
The NSW Governments reforms to public sector cleaning services entail the NSW Department of Education taking over management of the states Whole-of-Government cleaning contracts from January 1 2026.
A team has beenestablishedto deliver an enhanced Whole-of-Government cleaning contract for alignment and delivery of all program streams. Including Governance ITD Recruitment and Risk Management.
About the role
This role offers a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with local schools and communities while having the flexibility to travel across a rural region. As a Cleaning Services Officer youll play an important part in supporting safe clean and wellmaintained learning environments by coordinating inspections tracking service issues and helping ensure contractors deliver quality outcomes.

About you
You are a reliable and organised professional who takes pride in supporting schools and communities throughhighqualityservice delivery. You excel in roles where accuracyresponsiveness and clear communication are essential and you bring a practical approach to resolving issues andmaintainingstrong working relationships. Your ability to balance administrative tasks with travel andonsiteengagement enables you to supportdaytodaycleaning service operations with confidence and care.
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability tomaintainaccuraterecords track issues and support effective reporting.
Excellent communication and customer service skills enabling positive and productive interactions with principals school staff contractors and colleagues.
Confidence in coordinating inspections scheduling site visits and preparing documentation to support contract oversight and assurance activities.
A practical understanding of service delivery issue management and compliance requirements ideally within facilities cleaning services or a similar operational environment.
A commitment to safety professionalism and continuous improvement contributing to cleaner safer learning environments across rural NSW.

Key Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge of cleaning service delivery standards compliance requirements and contractor performance monitoring.
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the DepartmentsAboriginal Education Policyand upholding theDepartments Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECGand to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
Current and valid drivers licence and willingness to travel across the assigned region.
Current and valid Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to thevalue of public education.
