ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

We are looking for a dedicated reliable and hardworking Cleaning Operative to join our team at Eastgate Shopping Centre. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a professional team responsible for maintaining a clean safe and welcoming environment for visitors retailers and colleagues.

As a Cleaning Operative you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained throughout the centre. You will work as part of a supportive team delivering both planned and reactive cleaning services to help create an exceptional customer experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the shopping centre.

Clean and sanitise lifts including stainless steel surfaces lift doors frames runners and mirrors.

Sweep mop and maintain floor surfaces throughout public and back-of-house areas.

Clean and sanitise washrooms and staff facilities replenishing consumables as required.

Empty waste bins and manage waste disposal in accordance with site procedures.

Set up maintain and safely store cleaning equipment and materials.

Monitor assigned areas and proactively address cleaning requirements.

Respond promptly to spillages and other reactive cleaning tasks.

Support Team Leaders and Supervisors to ensure service excellence is consistently delivered.

Complete all required training and comply with Health & Safety procedures and company policies.

Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.

A positive professional and customer-focused attitude.

Reliable punctual and flexible in approach to work.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
