Class 2 Waste and Cleansing Driver

As a Class 2 Waste and Cleansing Driver you will be responsible for safely operating HGV Class 2 vehicles while leading waste collection and cleansing crews across Nottingham City. You will ensure services are delivered safely efficiently and to the required environmental and customer service standards.

• Drive HGV Class 2 waste and cleansing vehicles on designated routes.
  
• Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and defect reporting.
  
• Lead and supervise a small crew during daily operations.
  
• Ensure waste collection and cleansing services are completed safely and efficiently.
  
• Operate in-cab systems and digital reporting software.
  
• Record service delivery information incidents and operational issues.
  
• Ensure compliance with road traffic legislation and Council procedures.
  
• Promote health and safety best practice at all times.
  
• Liaise professionally with residents businesses and members of the public.
  
• Support refuse collection recycling cleansing and environmental services operations.
  
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness customer service and operational performance.
  
• Respond appropriately to incidents and operational challenges on route.
  

• Experience driving HGV Class 2 (Category C) vehicles.

• Strong understanding of road safety and vehicle compliance requirements.
  

• Valid Category C (HGV Class 2) Driving Licence.
  
• Driver CPC Qualification Card.
  
• Ability to drive vehicles from 3.5t up to 7.5t and HGV Class 2 vehicles.
  
• Right to Work in the UK.
  

• Working hours: 37 hours per week.
  
• Shift Pattern:
  • Monday to Friday
    
  • 14:00 22:00
    
• Location: Eastcroft Depot Nottingham.
  
• Reason for Hire: Pending Permanent Recruitment.
  
• Induction Date: 28th September 2026 (mandatory start date).
