Rate of Pay: 215.47- 292.45 per day

Summary:

The Child in Need (CIN) Reviewing Officer provides independent oversight and quality assurance of Child in Need plans for children and families receiving services under Section 17 of the Children Act 1989. The post holder is responsible for ensuring that Child in Need plans are child-centred outcome-focused and effective in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young across safeguarding services the Reviewing Officer chairs Child in Need review meetings monitors the quality and effectiveness of interventions challenges drift and delay and promotes high standards of practice through constructive scrutiny and professional challenge. The role requires strong analytical skills sound professional judgement and the ability to work collaboratively with children families practitioners and partner agencies to improve outcomes for vulnerable children.

Responsibilities:

• Chair and facilitate Child in Need review meetings in accordance with statutory requirements local procedures and best practice guidance.
• Ensure the childs voice wishes feelings and lived experiences remain central to all review processes and decision-making.
• Review and evaluate the effectiveness of Child in Need plans to determine whether identified outcomes are being achieved.
• Ensure review meetings are inclusive and encourage meaningful participation from children parents carers and relevant professionals.
• Identify cases where escalation to Child Protection procedures legal planning meetings or alternative interventions may be required.
• Maintain accurate electronic case records in accordance with Council policies and data protection legislation.

Qualifications:

• Social Work qualification includingDegree in Social WorkDipSWCQSW orEquivalent recognised qualification.
• Current registration with the relevant professional regulator such as Social Work England.

Essentials:

• Significant post-qualification experience within Childrens Social Care.
• Experience working with children and families presenting with complex needs and multiple vulnerabilities.
• Experience undertaking quality assurance auditing reviewing or evaluating practice.
• Thorough knowledge of the Children Act 1989 particularly Section 17 duties.
• Knowledge of Child in Need processes safeguarding frameworks and statutory guidance.
