We areseekinga passionateproactiveand dedicatedCIC Engagement and Progression Officerto join our Student Services Inclusion and Safeguarding team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supportingChildren in Care (CIC) and care experienced learnersto achieve their full potential. You will act as a trusted advocate and key point of contact helping learners overcome barriers to education improve attendance achieve their goals and progress successfully into further studytrainingor employment.

Working closely with curriculum teams local authorities social workers Virtual Schools and other external agencies you will ensure learners receive the tailored support they need to thrive both academically and personally.

What Youll Be Doing

You will:

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with CIC and care experienced learners.

  • Support learner engagement attendanceretentionand achievement.

  • Coordinate and contribute to Personal Education Plans (PEPs).

  • Attend and represent the College at multi-agency meetings.

  • Work collaboratively with curriculumsafeguardingand wellbeing teams.

  • Monitor learner progress and implement early intervention strategies whererequired.

  • Advocate on behalf of learners to ensure their voices are heard and their needs met.

  • Promote wellbeingresilienceand successful progression outcomes.

  • Maintainaccuraterecords and provide reports on learner engagement and outcomes.

What Were Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting vulnerable young people ideally Children in Care within education youth work socialcareor a related setting.

  • Understands the challenges faced by young people withadditionalsupport needs and care experience.

  • Has experience working effectively with external agencies and professionals.

  • Can confidently contribute to and support Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Personal Education Plans (PEPs).

  • Has knowledge of SEND safeguarding and legislation relating to Children in Care.

  • Is an excellent communicator with strong relationship-building skills.

  • Can manage sensitive situations with professionalismempathyand resilience.

  • Is highly organised and able tomaintainaccuraterecords and learner data.
