Job Summary
Role: Registered Childrens Home Manager
Location: Birmingham
Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week with flexibility required to meet the needs of the home)
Salary: Up to 70000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
What will you be doing
As the Registered Childrens Home Manager you will have overall responsibility for the effective management and operation of a 2-bedroom EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) childrens home. You will provide strong leadership to the staff team ensuring children and young people receive exceptional care support and opportunities to achieve positive outcomes.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the home in line with the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 Quality Standards Ofsted requirements and company policies.
- Creating a safe nurturing and therapeutic environment where children feel secure respected and valued.
- Ensuring children receive high-quality personalised care that meets their individual needs and promotes independence and development.
- Providing effective leadership supervision and support to the residential care team.
- Recruiting training mentoring and developing staff to maintain excellent standards of care.
- Ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed and that childrens welfare remains the highest priority.
- Managing care plans risk assessments placement plans and behaviour support strategies.
- Working collaboratively with social workers education providers health professionals families and other external agencies.
- Monitoring and improving the quality of care through audits reviews and continuous improvement plans.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring the home is fully prepared for Ofsted inspections.
- Promoting a positive culture where childrens voices wishes and feelings are listened to and respected.
Experience/qualifications required:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Previous experience working as a Registered Manager Deputy Manager or Senior Manager within a childrens residential care setting.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership role within residential childcare.
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD trauma attachment difficulties or complex behaviours.
- Strong knowledge of Childrens Homes Regulations Ofsted expectations and safeguarding procedures.
- Proven ability to lead motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication organisation and decision-making skills.
