Job Details

We are looking for a Childcare Manager to manage and oversee a cluster of out of school clubs for school aged children across North East Fife.

Each Out of School Club is registered with the Care Inspectorate and are designed to support families to access employment or further education while children are able to access quality play-based activities and experiences.

The Childcare Manager will be fully responsible for the day-to-day management of their cluster the direct management of a team of Childcare Practitioners and Senior Childcare Practitioners.

Services operate from 07:45 to 09:00 and 14:45 to 18:00 during term-time and 07:30 to 18:00 during school holidays.

The Person

If you meet the essential criteria outlined below wed like to hear from you:

  • You must hold as a minimum a relevant professional qualification recognised by the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) for the purpose of professional registration at SCQF Level 7 or above which would include an HNC Childhood Practice or SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
  • You must be eligible to register with the SSSC in the category of Manager of a Day Care of Children Service and hold or be willing to work towards an SCQF Level 9 qualification such as the PDA 9 Childhood Practice or BA Childhood Practice.
  • You should have experience of working with children and young people between the age of 4 to 19 years including the planning preparation and delivery of activities tailored to the individual needs of children.
  • You should have knowledge of key local and national guidance best practice and legislation.
  • You must have experience of managing or supervising people.
  • You must have IT skills.
  • You must be able to travel across Fife and be in services until 6pm on some evenings.

Before confirming to your appointment you willbe requiredto obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

As this role requires SSSC registration you will have three months to apply for registration.

If appointed you must start your applicationas soon as possiblesoyoureregistered within the required six months.

If you need to achieve a qualification tomaintainyour SSSC membership information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specifiedtimeframe.
