A secondary school in Kingston upon Thames is seeking a confident Chemistry Teacher to join its Science Department. The school is looking for someone who can deliver challenging lessons while making Chemistry accessible and relevant to students.

You will teach Science across KS3 and specialise in Chemistry at KS4. The successful teacher will be responsible for planning lessons that develop students understanding of chemical principles while also preparing GCSE students for their examinations.

Students will study areas including atomic structure bonding chemical reactions quantitative chemistry energy changes and the Earths resources. You will use demonstrations practical investigations and problem-solving activities to reinforce the theory covered in lessons.

Assessment will be an important part of the position. You will track progress identify misconceptions and provide targeted support where students need additional guidance. The ability to work collaboratively with other Science teachers will also be essential.

Chemistry Teacher - Experience and Qualifications

  • Ability to teach KS3 Science and KS4 Chemistry

  • GCSE Chemistry experience

  • Confidence delivering practical investigations

Salary

The salary for this Chemistry Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS depending on experience and qualifications.
