Age UK Stockport is looking for an exceptional individual to become our next Chair.

For almost 80 years weve supported people in later life across the borough helping them remain independent connected and well. Today were recognised as one of Stockports leading independent charities working alongside local communities the NHS Stockport Council and voluntary sector partners to improve lives every day.

As Chair youll provide strategic leadership to our Board work closely with our experienced Chief Executive and represent the charity across the borough. Youll help shape our future direction while ensuring we continue to make a positive difference for people in later life. This is a voluntary role offering the chance to make a genuine impact within your community.

Were looking for someone who:

Has senior leadership executive or Board-level experience.

• Can provide strategic oversight and good governance.
• Enjoys building partnerships and influencing others.
• Shares our values and commitment to improving later life.
• Has a strong personal connection with Stockport.

Whether you live here now have lived here previously work here or have longstanding links with the borough youll understand our communities and want to help shape their future.

Age UK Stockport is an independent charity governed locally and focused entirely on the needs of Stockport the same time were developing a collaboration of eight independent Age UK charities working together across Greater Manchester giving our Chair the opportunity to influence not only locally but across one of the UKs most innovative collaborative networks for supporting people in later life.
