The People & Training Directorate is responsible for delivery of the MOD Sponsored Cadet Forces iaw Defence Enabling Objective 11.11 for the RN. Operating under the direction of Dir P&T who in turn delegates to Comd RN CF the responsibilities encompass the funding support and management of training and activities delivered to RN-recognised Youth organisations collectively known as Royal Naval Cadet Forces (RN CF) which incorporates the Sea Cadet Corps Combined Cadet Force RN /RM RN Recognised Sea Scouts and Volunteer Cadet Corps RN /RM. This includes the development of training programmes by which the RN can interact with the wider youth community and provide opportunities for the RN to support Government youth policy in the development of young people.

The Combined Cadet Force Royal Navy-Royal Marines Headquarters CCF HQ RN-RM under Commanding Officer CCF proactively plan resource and deliver activities for the CCF and wider Naval Cadet family and is primarily responsible for providing a challenging and stimulating cadet experience within schools that develops and inspires young people through the ethos and standards of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

ROLE DESCRIPTION & SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

The postholder is to work within their designated region IAW relevant JSPs Standing Orders and National Regulations in order to support CCF RM Sections in developing a cadets leadership and for him or her to gain a wider understanding of the Royal Marines. Tasks are as follows:

• Assist and advise CCF (RM) Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and staff on the content planning and execution of CCF (RM) cadet training and provide guidance and assistance to book courses arrange cadet travel and guide and assist with applications pay and allowances.
• Attend training days or evenings as regularly as possible and field days whenever possible for CCF (RM) sections within their allocated area and/or as designated by CCF (RN) HQ and/or as required where specific skills and qualifications are required to enable training and ensure the safe training system is in place
• Actively promote CCF RM activities camps courses and CCF RN ashore and afloat Service activities.
• Provide input to the compilation of the CCF RN/RM HQ Visit register to aid the management of the section risk register.
• Assist in the planning and execution of CCF (RM) HQ administered activities camps and courses.
• Support the RM Section in preparation for and attendance at CCF Biennial Inspections and other functions as directed by CCF (RN) HQ.
• Liaise directly with the NRC HQ to identify opportunities for cadet involvement in their area.
• Liaise with Regional Brigades to assist and guide on G4 Support to the CCF RM Sections
• Liaise directly with the Commando units and RMR Units to identify opportunities for cadet involvement in their area and act as the SME in terms of guidance on Safeguarding.
• Develop and upgrade personal qualifications in CCF RM activities i.e. SAA Instructor M Qual and Range Qualifying courses. And High/Low Ropes RYA BCU BSAC MLUK and NPLQ if desired.
• Actively promote an understanding of RM Mindset Core Values and Spirit within the CCF RM Sections.
• Attend relevant area conferences and meetings as required.
• Support cadet expansion (RN / RM) in schools once identified and authorised.
• Assist with CCF (RN) training in order that the functions of Service training for the CCF as laid down in JSP 313/CCF Regulations are achieved.
• Maintain and keep safe custody of all personal equipment issued including vehicles laptops mobile phones and CCF (RM) training aids and equipment.
