Job Summary
A welcoming primary school in Nottingham is looking to appoint a Caretaker to join the premises team from September 2026.
This is a full-time long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys practical hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining a safe clean and well-presented school environment.
As the schools Caretaker youll be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the site helping to ensure the school is ready for pupils staff and visitors each day.
Key responsibilities include:
Opening and securing the school site
Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
Completing routine health and safety checks
Maintaining the school buildings and grounds
Setting up rooms for assemblies meetings and school events
Working with contractors and reporting maintenance issues
Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the premises

The school is looking for a dependable and proactive individual who can work independently and manage a varied workload.
Previous experience as a Caretaker Site Assistant Premises Assistant Facilities Assistant or Maintenance Operative is desirable. Experience working within a school would be an advantage although candidates with relevant maintenance or facilities experience from other sectors are encouraged to apply.
