The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the school site ensuring that buildings and grounds are clean safe secure and well maintained.

Working closely with the School Business Manager and leadership team you will carry out routine maintenance health and safety checks minor repairs site security duties and liaise with contractors when required. You will help ensure the school remains compliant with statutory regulations while providing a welcoming environment for pupils staff and visitors.

• Open and close the school site each day

• Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs

• Ensure the school site is safe secure and well presented

• Complete regular health and safety and compliance checks

• Monitor heating lighting and building systems

• Liaise with contractors and oversee site visits

• Assist with setting up rooms for school events and activities

• Maintain the school grounds and outdoor areas to a high standard

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in a caretaking maintenance or facilities role

• Practical DIY and building maintenance skills

• Good knowledge of health and safety procedures

• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload

Desirable

• Experience working within a school or educational setting

• Knowledge of safeguarding and site security procedures

• Health and safety qualification such as IOSH or equivalent

• Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance schedules
