Job Summary
A well-regarded primary school in Chester is looking to appoint a Caretaker to join the team from September 2026.
This is a full-time long-term opportunity for an experienced caretaker or maintenance professional who enjoys taking ownership of a school site and ensuring its safe secure and ready for pupils and staff every day.
Youll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the school premises including:
Opening and securing the school site
Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
Completing routine health and safety checks
Maintaining the buildings and grounds to a high standard
Setting up rooms for school activities and events
Liaising with contractors when required
The school is looking for someone who is reliable practical and takes pride in maintaining a safe welcoming environment.
Previous experience as a Caretaker Site Assistant Facilities Assistant Premises Assistant or Maintenance Operative is preferred. School experience is beneficial but not essential for candidates with transferable facilities or maintenance experience.
