The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and operation of the school site ensuring that buildings and grounds are clean safe secure and well maintained.

Working closely with the Site Manager and School Business Manager you will carry out routine maintenance tasks complete health and safety checks support site security liaise with contractors assist with room setups and respond promptly to operational issues across the school.

This role requires a practical organised and dependable individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards and contributing to a positive school environment.

• Open and close the school site safely and securely

• Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs

• Ensure buildings and grounds are clean safe and well maintained

• Complete health and safety and compliance checks

• Monitor heating lighting and building systems

• Liaise with contractors and oversee maintenance visits

• Assist with room setups for lessons examinations events and activities

• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in caretaking maintenance premises or facilities

• Practical DIY and building maintenance skills

• Good understanding of health and safety procedures

• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities

• Reliable proactive and able to work independently

Desirable

• Experience working in a school or educational setting

• Knowledge of safeguarding and site security procedures

• Health and safety qualification such as IOSH or equivalent

• Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance schedules
