Caretaker Needed ASAP for Well-Established Primary School in Gillingham

A welcoming primary school in Gillingham Dorset is currently seeking a reliable and practical School Caretaker to join its premises team.

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining the schools buildings grounds and facilities ensuring that pupils staff and visitors have a safe and well-maintained environment in which to work.

This is a hands-on position involving a mixture of routine maintenance minor repairs security checks and general site support. The successful applicant will need to be comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for identifying and dealing with issues around the school.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out daily checks of the school buildings and grounds

• Completing minor repairs and general maintenance

• Checking doors windows gates and other security measures

• Opening and securing the premises where required

• Preparing rooms for meetings and school activities

• Assisting with deliveries and movement of equipment

• Liaising with contractors and external suppliers

• Reporting larger maintenance issues

• Supporting health and safety procedures

• Maintaining a clean safe and presentable site

Previous experience in caretaking maintenance facilities property or premises management would be advantageous.

The school is looking for someone dependable practical and proactive who takes pride in their work and is willing to get involved with the day-to-day running of the site.
