A well-established and highly regarded primary school in Aylesbury Buckinghamshire is looking for an experienced Caretaker to join its premises team as soon as possible.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe clean and welcoming school environment and enjoys working in a role where no two days are quite the same.
The successful Caretaker will be responsible for the general upkeep of the school site including carrying out routine maintenance responding to minor repairs monitoring the condition of buildings and grounds and ensuring that the premises remain safe and operational throughout the school day.
You will also assist with opening and securing the site liaising with contractors monitoring deliveries and supporting the school with health and safety procedures.
Previous experience within a school college public building or similar environment would be advantageous. A practical background in maintenance facilities or premises management would also be considered.
The school is looking for someone reliable proactive and capable of working independently while also becoming a valued member of the wider school community.
Key responsibilities include:
General maintenance and repairs across the school site
Daily checks of buildings grounds and facilities
Opening and securing the premises
Liaising with contractors and external suppliers
Supporting health and safety procedures
Maintaining a safe environment for pupils staff and visitors
Assisting with deliveries and site-related queries
Reporting larger maintenance issues where required
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous caretaking premises or maintenance experience
A practical and hands-on approach
