Caretaker | Modern & Supportive Academy | Barnet

We require a proactive reliable Caretaker to manage the security maintenance and safety of our Barnet campus. Reporting to the Premises Manager you will handle daily lockups minor repairs statutory compliance checks and porterage ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our school community.

• Site Security: Manage daily opening/closing set alarms conduct boundary patrols and act as a primary keyholder for emergency call-outs.

• General Maintenance: Complete first-line repairs (basic plumbing carpentry painting) and report major faults.

• Compliance Checks: Perform routine safety testing including weekly fire alarms emergency lighting and water hygiene logs.

• Porterage & Cleaning: Set up halls for exams manage deliveries and assist the cleaning team with spillages and keeping grounds tidy.

• Seasonal Care: Grit pathways and clear snow during winter to ensure safe site access.

• Technical Skills: Practical handyperson experience (plumbing carpentry or decorating) and strong DIY capability.

• Compliance Knowledge: Basic understanding of health and safety standards (COSHH manual handling ladder safety).

• Reliable Ethos: A dependable self-motivated worker with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and visitors.
