Job Summary
A highly regarded school in Ipswich is looking to appoint a reliable and practical Caretaker to join its premises and facilities team on a full-time basis starting ASAP.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker maintenance professional or hands-on individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe secure and welcoming school environment.
The successful Caretaker will support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the school site ensuring buildings grounds and facilities are kept in good working order.
Key responsibilities will include:
Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs across the school site
Completing routine checks of buildings grounds and facilities
Ensuring the school site is clean safe and secure
Assisting with the opening and closing of the premises when required
Monitoring and reporting maintenance issues and potential hazards
Supporting contractors and external maintenance providers when on site
Assisting with health and safety checks and site procedures
Helping to maintain a positive and welcoming environment for students and staff
The school is seeking a Caretaker who:
Has previous experience in a caretaking maintenance or facilities role
Has practical skills and the ability to carry out general repairs
Understands the importance of health and safety within a school environment
Is reliable organised and able to work independently
Has good communication and interpersonal skills
Takes pride in maintaining high standards across the school site
Can respond effectively to changing priorities and day-to-day issues
