Job Summary
A thriving secondary school in Salford is seeking a Caretaker to join the premises team from September 2026 on a full-time long-term basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with caretaking maintenance or facilities experience who enjoys practical work and wants to make a real contribution to the smooth running of a busy school.
Working as part of the premises team youll help ensure the school remains safe secure and well maintained for pupils staff and visitors.
Responsibilities include:
Opening and locking the school site
Carrying out planned maintenance and minor repairs
Completing routine health and safety inspections
Maintaining the school buildings and outdoor areas
Preparing classrooms and halls for school events
Supporting contractors and monitoring site access
Reporting maintenance issues and assisting with site compliance

The ideal candidate will be reliable organised and confident working independently while managing a varied workload.
Previous experience as a Caretaker Site Assistant Premises Assistant Facilities Assistant or Maintenance Operative is desirable. Experience within a school setting would be beneficial but is not essential for candidates with relevant transferable skills.
