Job Summary
A welcoming primary school in Leeds is looking to appoint a Caretaker to join the team from September 2026.
This is a full-time long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in maintaining a safe secure and well-presented school environment. Youll become an important part of the school community helping to ensure the site runs smoothly every day.
Youll be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the school site working to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for pupils staff and visitors.
Responsibilities include:
Opening and locking the school site
Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
Completing routine health and safety checks
Maintaining the school buildings and grounds
Setting up rooms for meetings and school events
Liaising with contractors when required
Reporting maintenance issues and supporting site compliance

The school is looking for a reliable and proactive individual with previous experience as a Caretaker Site Assistant Premises Assistant Facilities Assistant or Maintenance Operative.
School experience is desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant maintenance or facilities experience. A practical approach good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
