Job Description and Person Specification

The working hours are Monday - Friday 9.30am - 12.30pm.

This is a fixed term position until 30 June 2027.

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community Do you have a knack for operational business support and a keen eye for detail Lancashire County Council is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Business Support Officer to work at our Derby Day Centre in Ormskirk.

As a Business Support Officer you will play a crucial role in supporting the Day Centre Manager and our wider care team in their day-to-day duties. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience within a fast-paced Business Support function.

In this role you will be the backbone of our administrative operations ensuring smooth and efficient processes. Your attention to detail and organisational skills will maintain high data quality and support our wider care team. As the first point of contact for service users and partners you will provide a friendly and professional service directly impacting the quality of care and creating a welcoming environment for our residents.

About you:

  • Providing Administrative Support: Proven experience in offering comprehensive administrative assistance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working Accurately Under Pressure: Demonstrated ability to remain organised and maintain attention to detail even when working under tight deadlines.
  • Systems: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook) and capable of learning new systems to efficiently maintain electronic and manual filing systems to meet business and statutory requirements.
  • Data Review and Cleansing: The ability to review cleanse and maintain high-quality data within established systems and processes.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will enable clear and effective interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: You will be a proactive problem solver working using your initiative to ensure smooth and efficient operations are developed and maintained.
