Job Summary
Business Support Officer (Administrator) Childrens Services 10974 Secondment Opportunity / Temporary / Fixed Term Contract for 12 Months 37 hours per week 26847 to 27274 per annum Grade D Bowthorpe Norwich
We are looking for a highly organised and resilient Business Support Officer to join our Childrens Services business support team with a specific focus on convening and administering Child Protection Conferences.
This is a vital role supporting the smooth running of statutory safeguarding processes. You will help ensure conferences are arranged efficiently documents and information are accurate and timely and professionals children and families receive a well-coordinated service.
About the role
You will be part of a busy business support function working closely with social workers other business support teams managers Independent Chairs and partner agencies to coordinate Child Protection Conferences from referral through to completion.
The role involves managing conference arrangements preparing and sharing documentation recording key information and helping to make sure statutory timescales and local processes are followed.
About you
You will be:
- An experienced administrator with strong organisational and time-management skills
- Confident working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- A clear and professional communicator both written and verbal
- Competent in using IT systems including Microsoft Office and electronic case management systems
- Resilient calm under pressure and able to work effectively as part of a team
Experience within Childrens Services safeguarding or a local authority setting is desirable but not essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and administering Child Protection Conferences including arranging dates booking meetings and supporting the recording of outcomes
- Liaising with social workers Independent Chairs partner agencies and other professionals to ensure conference information is received shared and recorded in a timely way
- Managing confidential and sensitive information in line with data protection and safeguarding requirements
- Acting as a point of contact for professionals partners and families ensuring communication is professional timely and clear
- Using case management and recording systems to update track and report information
- Providing wider business support to Childrens Services when required including support linked to Children in Care processes reports data returns and general administrative tasks
You will be part of a well-established supportive team and full training will be provided.
Please note:This role is working on site at Bowthorpe Community Hub - there is an opportunity for hybrid working once probation and training are complete.
