The Role:

We have a full-time vacancy for a intern Business Support Assistant on the Set for Success program whose core focus will be to support the work of our Set for Success Athlete Mentor and teacher sessions in the 6 schools in the area.

Our working week is:

Monday-Friday 9-5pm

Successful applicant will work as part of a team supporting the Set for Success program across the county as well as involving themselves in other projects the Employment and Enterprise team are delivering through the delivery of high-quality business support.

3 days a week will be spent supporting the Set For Success program

To support the successful delivery of this programme SFS Interns will be tasked with supporting SFS Athlete Mentor and teacher sessions in the 6 schools in the area. SFS Interns will be expected to attend a minimum of 75% of school visits. It is important to note that SFS Interns will not replace the teacher or support staff in the room but they will be providing additional support in the sessions. Supporting the lead teacher in each school with all administrative tasks including research and insight reporting Leadership Skills Foundation awards new supplier forms travel and accommodation support and much more. Supporting the schools to understand the full requirements of the programme and ensure that the Athlete Mentor visits are being booked in the right space is booked for the sessions and the relevant kit and resources are provided for the sessions. Attending and supporting the areas Empowerment Event Attending and supporting the Wimbledon Inspiration Event (if in post at the time of event)

2 days a week will be spent with the organisation

This opportunity will provide the host organisation with further capacity to support other areas of Cornwall Council within the Employment and Enterprise Team. Projects may range but SFS Work and visits must be prioritised. The SFS Interns priorities outside of the delivery of the SFS programme will focus on improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people in schools in line with the Youth Sport Trusts strategy.

Whilst the location/work base for these roles has been specified our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to work remotely (e.g. from home/other locations).

We work flexibly to most effectively support the people services and organisations that we support and will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.

What youll need to succeed:

Experience of working in an office environment would be an advantage. Comprehensive training will be given and once established in the role opportunities for career development will be available.

You will have good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise appropriately with all levels of staff service users and other agencies.

A professional approach is essential. We also require flexibility and the ability to enjoy the challenge of working within a busy team environment producing good quality accurate outputs while working to deadlines.
