Job Summary

Join us as a Business DevelopmentManagerand make an invaluable contribution to our Food Safety & Biosecurity!

Business Development Managers (BDM)drivefurther growth and expansion of commercial clients across the Fera portfolio. The key focus is on forming new and nurturing existing relationships with the relevant clients benefiting of Feras services and consultancy usually within our Food & Feed services.

Alongside contacting their own client portfolio the BDM willattend conferences fairs and other events requiring travel in the UK Europe and globally.

What youll be doing:

  • Accountable forbusiness development targets in new and existing regulatory service areas
  • Qualifying prospects and coaching the team to do the same
  • Acquiring new clients and converting enquiries
  • Account and relationship management
  • Accurate forecasting and reporting
  • Business Plan production together with the Head of Food and Feed
  • Development of best practices for leading successful sales campaigns
  • Sales process management
  • Providing market insights and supporting the teams marketing collateral design
  • Refining a disciplined and transparent sales model that ensures consistent success and growth of the business
  • Pipeline management reporting and coaching the team to do the same

What were looking for:

  • Driven confident focused with a high degree of gravitas
  • Team player familiar in working with technical experts
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Have strong technical knowledge within the agri-food/agri-science industry and TIC sector
  • Track record of achieving targets
  • Experience of working with financial reports and statistics
  • Strong planning and time management skills
  • Ability to generate business leads
  • Significant field sales experience ideally international
  • Proven track record of growing target accounts from leads generated
  • Knowledge and experience in remote and direct sales processes
  • Strong relationship building influencing and negotiationskills at all levels
  • Commercially orientated
