PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 32000 - 39900 depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

As Senior Impact Officer youll lead BBC Children in Needs grant-making and management in Scotland making sure our funding delivers the best possible outcomes for children and young people facing challenges in their lives. You will lead the local team and represent BBC Children in Need in Scotland.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Deliver best-practice grant-making and grant management across Scotland ensuring funding achieves the strongest possible outcomes for children and young people.
- Ensure all activity aligns to the Scotland teams local funding priorities responding to local need and emerging insights.
- Lead coordinate and support Scotland team planning and contributions in the run-up to the BBC Children in Need Appeal each November.
- Work as part of a UK-wide peer group to drive continuous improvement in our grant-making approach and end-to-end grant management.
- Provide inclusive effective leadership to a small team; building trust transparency and continuous learning through clear direction coaching and feedback.
- Build and strengthen partnerships across the children and young peoples and grant-making sectors to increase the reach and local impact of BBC Children in Need.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Demonstrable experience of grant-making and/or grant management.
- Proven experience working with voluntary and/or community sector organisations.
- Ability to build and maintain productive relationships across multiple teams.
- Experience of creating high performing teams including motivating and supporting others through coaching and constructive feedback.
- Experience of facilitating panels and/or committees to support robust grant-making decisions.
DESIRABLE:
- Experience working within the UK children and young peoples sector.
- Proficiency with Windows-based software including the ability to use grant-making and grant-management database systems.
- Experience presenting to a range of audiences
